rained as an architect and urban planner, Prof. Hari Srinivas is currently Professor of Global Environmental Policy at the School of Policy Studies, Kwansei Gakuin University in Kobe, Japan.

Before taking up his current post, he was Programme Officer for 10 years at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Programme Associate for eight years at the United Nations University (UNU) in Tokyo. He also served as a faculty member at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Dept. of Social Engineering.

He concurrently coordinates the non-profit think-tank, the Global Development Research Center (GDRC). In 2015, he was appointed as Distinguished Adjunct Professor of the Asian Institute of Technology, serving under the Office of the President of AIT.

Besides global and urban environmental issues, his research interests range from information management and rural development issues to community innovativeness, disaster management and NGO development.
