Internet Citation Style
  • When referring to a document on the web, it is now accepted policy to use the following method:

    [Limb, 1992: limb-l.html]

    In bibliography:
Limb, Peter (1992). "Alliance Strengthened or Diminished?: Relationships between Labour & African Nationalist/Liberation Movements in Southern Africa." Document on the World Wide Web, URL: <>, accessed 21 October 2002.

  • In the example above, 1992 refers to the date when the document was written (if available, otherwise it is indicated as 'n.d.'), and 21 October 2002 refers to the date when the document was accessed on the web. Due to the dynamic nature of the internet, documents may be modified and/or moved frequently, and hence the date accessed is also indicated for reference purposes.
