About the Programme

GDRC's ICTs for Development research programme focusses on the technologies that enable societal development through broader communication and knowledge transfer.

The programme also explores uptake of internet and ICTs, and skills and capacities in information management, particularly in developing countries.

Currently, GDRC is focussing on the links between ICTs and poverty reduction - including telecenters, mobile phones etc.

Together with the GDRC research programmes on Knowledge Management and Information Design, this programme is developed through the GDRC Learning Lab.
